About The Orchard
Straight-up casino reviews for New Zealand players.
Who We Are
The Orchard is an independent casino review site built for Kiwi players. We are not a casino, we do not take bets, and we do not handle your money. Our job is simpler than that: we test online casinos so you do not have to wade through the noise yourself.
We started this site because finding a decent place to play online in New Zealand should not require a degree in fine print. Too many review sites are just lists of logos with affiliate links. We wanted something better — honest assessments from someone who actually signs up, deposits real money, and tries to withdraw it.
How We Review
Every casino on our site has been tested with real NZD deposits. We do not rely on press releases or marketing material. Our review process covers:
- Sign-up experience — how long registration takes, what verification is required
- Deposit & withdrawal speed — we time it, from click to cleared funds
- Bonus terms — we read the wagering requirements so you know what you are actually getting
- Game selection — pokies, table games, live dealer quality, and which providers are available
- Customer support — we contact support with real questions at different hours
- Mobile performance — tested on real devices over 4G and Wi-Fi
- Licensing & security — we verify active licences and check for SSL encryption
Our Expert
All reviews are researched and written by Liam Scott, a Tauranga-based reviewer who got into this space after a frustrating personal experience with slow payouts and unclear terms. Liam tests every site himself — no ghostwriters, no recycled content.
Affiliate Disclosure
The Orchard earns a commission when you sign up to a casino through our links. This is how we keep the site running and the reviews free. It does not cost you anything extra, and it does not influence our ratings. If a site is poor, we say so — regardless of the commercial relationship.
Responsible Gambling
We take responsible gambling seriously. All content is intended for players aged 18 and over. If gambling stops being fun, please visit our responsible gambling page or call the Gambling Helpline NZ on 0800 654 655.
